See what your VPS did today
A Team-Hub on a VPS works while you sleep. 🔭 Inspect answers the morning question, “so what did it actually do?”, without logging into the server.
What you’ll learn
- How to look inside a paired machine: its tasks, its workers’ work and its artifacts.
- How to preview a file and copy it to this Mac.
- How to rename a machine, here and on the machine itself.
Before you start
You need a paired machine that granted this one the sync scope (the full scope includes it). Without it, the Inspect button doesn’t appear.
1. Open Inspect
- Open the Fleet screen.
- On the machine’s card, click 🔭 Inspect. A panel titled 🔭 Inside
opens under the card. - Switch between the four tabs: Overview, ✅ Tasks, 🧠 Work and 📦 Artifacts. ↻ reloads the current tab.
Inspect is read-only. You can look and copy, but nothing you do here changes the other machine.
2. The four tabs
| Tab | What you see |
|---|---|
| Overview | Autonomy (running or paused), workers, companies, routines that are on, conversations active in the last 24 h, plans running, work products, agent files, leads and drafts waiting. Then tasks by status, ⚠ Failing routines and Recent errors. Click an error to open the run it came from. |
| ✅ Tasks | Every task with its assignee, status and dates. Open work shows the conversation behind it. |
| 🧠 Work | Recent conversations and runs, with the worker, the number of messages and the latest answer. Click one to read the whole thread. |
| 📦 Artifacts | Work products, files Saved to the Library by agents, and Files in the workspace: exports, letters, spreadsheets. |
3. Preview and copy
In 📦 Artifacts:
- Preview shows a text file right in the panel.
- ⬇ Copy to this Mac (Library files) and ⬇ Copy (workspace files) bring the file over and open it. Copies land in your workspace in a folder named
from-<machine name>.
A binary file, like a spreadsheet, can’t be previewed; copy it instead. One file can be up to 8 MB.
4. Give machines names you recognise
“vps-3f2a” doesn’t tell you much at 7 a.m.
- A paired machine: click ✏️ next to its name on its Fleet card and type a new one. If this machine has the sync scope and the other one is reachable, it’s renamed here and on the machine itself. Otherwise only your label changes, and the app tells you so.
- This machine: in the This machine card, click ✏️. That’s the name your other machines see.
A name is 1–60 characters.
Try it
- Inspect your VPS and read Overview: is anything under ⚠ Failing routines?
- In 🧠 Work, open the most recent thread and read the latest answer.
- In 📦 Artifacts, copy one file to this Mac and find it in
from-<machine name>. - Rename the VPS to something like “Hetzner hub”. The message should end in “here and on the machine itself”.
Recap
🔭 Inspect is a read-only window into a paired machine: Overview, Tasks, Work and Artifacts, with preview and copy-to-this-Mac. ✏️ renames a machine here and on the machine itself. Next: keep an audit trail of every conversation.
